A high school graduate or equivalent preferred. This is a nineteen (19) hour per week position. The typically work hours will be 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. General Statement of Duties
This position is responsible for programmatic, operational and administrative activities associated with a congregate/home delivered meals nutrition site for the aging population.
Distinguishing Features of the Class
An employee in this class is responsible for management of a congregate/home delivered meals nutrition site. Work includes the serving of meals to older adults both at the congregate site and to homebound clients, daily opening and closing of the site, overall sanitation of the site, completion of necessary reports, and annual reevaluations of program participants. Work is evaluated by the Nutrition Program Director and is reviewed through periodic conferences and through analysis of effectiveness; review input is received from federal and state agencies. Employee performs work largely independently.

Ensures the nutrition site is operated and closed within required time frame.
Schedules information and supportive service programs.
Posts a calendar of monthly activities.
Collects and safeguards client contributions and submits reports to supervisor.
Serves meals to congregate site and home delivered meals program participants.
Ensures meals served meet the client portion and meal pattern guidelines.
Maintains site cleanliness with assistance of volunteer workers.
Recruits and trains volunteer workers in duties necessary to keep nutrition site operational.
Registers clients for the congregate nutrition program and reevaluates annually.
Maintains accurate records.
Ensures that unserved meals are maintained at a nominal level.
Other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
Position should possess the ability to perform climbing, stooping, walking, fingering, grasping, talking (including presentations to groups of individuals), and hearing.
Position should possess the ability to perform light work exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
Position should possess the ability to perform visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, view a computer terminal, and excessive reading.
Position should have the ability to be subject to inside environmental conditions involving temperature changes and to atmospheric conditions that may involve fumes, odors, dusts or mists.
Position should have the visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle.
Desirable Education and Experience
High School graduate, GED, or an equivalent combination of experience or training required. Prefer at least one year’s experience.
Special Requirements
Possession of a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
